9-Week Small Business Class Returns To In-Person Format

Albany, NY-– The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region is thrilled to announce the return of the 9-Week Business Planning Course to an in-person format for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first class will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 5:30-8:30 and will run concurrently on Wednesday evenings until March 26th. The class will be held at 5 Computer Dr S, Albany, NY 12205, home to the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Loan Fund successfully transitioned its classes to offer virtual training via Edupreneur, their online learning platform, and Zoom. While this approach allowed for continued education and engagement in its 11-county service area, the organization recognizes the unique value of in-person interactions. Destiny Watkins, Director of Training and Technical Assistance, shared her enthusiasm about the transition back to in-person classes:

“While we are able to provide valuable training and support through Zoom, we are incredibly excited to reintegrate in-person instruction to our business training programs. It’s essential for those taking the class to converse with each other face-to-face, exchange ideas, and build connections that are often best created in a shared physical space.”

The course, the first of its series in 2025, allows entrepreneurs across the greater Capital Region to attend and learn fundamental planning concepts and tools such as developing a business plan, proper marketing strategies and financial management as they seek to develop or grow their own small business.
