Capital Roots' mission is to nourish healthy communities by providing access to fresh food and green space for all. We work to reduce the impact of poor nutrition on public health in New York's Capital Region by organizing community gardens, providing healthy food access, food distribution, offering nutritional and horticultural education for all ages and coordinating urban greening programs in Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady and southern Saratoga Counties.

Cornell Cooperative Extension is the local outreach of Cornell University, putting knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being. We bring local experience and research based solutions together, helping families and communities thrive.

The BID cultivates and advocates the economic growth of downtown Troy by creating an inviting, dynamic, and sustainable community that celebrates the City's history while building towards its future. The BID is dedicated to improving the quality of life within the district to further enhance and make our community a vibrant, attractive destination for visitors, businesses, residents, property owners, the daily workforce, and students.

Fun, friendship and new adventures are what Girl Scouts is all about. Girls make new friends, challenge themselves, write their own stories, and take action to change the world for the better.

How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience with the help of supportive adults and troop leaders who bring those processes to life, Girl Scouts follow their own lead, no matter their age; do hands-on activities to help them feel empowered to shape their own experience; and, with a tight-knit group of friends, Girl Scouts learn and grow together while cheering on each other.

HANYS is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York. We are located near Albany and represent 500 not-for-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare organizations. Our members are not only the largest providers of inpatient and outpatient care, and essential providers of primary care, they are among the largest employers in many communities.
We harness the power of a unified statewide membership and collaborate with regional, state, and national associations. HANYS advocates before Congress, the Governor's office, the State Legislature, and state and federal agencies. We also provide education, data analytics, quality improvement initiatives, and operational assistance to help our members navigate the

Food pantry, after school, summer camp, holiday adoptions, teen enrichment, community events.

The Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley provides services to people with disabilities and their families.

A collegiate athletic conference of the NCAA's Division III, the Liberty League has 11 full members and sponsors championships in 27 sports.

Since 1968, LVORC has provided free, confidential tutoring to adults in greater Rensselaer County. We train volunteers to help learners to improve their ability to read, write, speak and understand English; empower our learners to be advocates for themselves; and educate the community about literacy issues. We also offer math, computer, and financial literacy; English Literacy Civics and citizenship prep; and Everybody WINS! Power Lunch reading and mentoring for children. New volunteers welcome.

START is a child advocacy center that assits child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers in the aftermath of abuse disclosure through the investigative, prosecution and healing process. The Center also operates various care management andprevention programs.

The Susan Odell Taylor School offers an exceptional educational choice to families throughout the Capital Region with children in preschool, elementary and middle school. Students are given the opportunity to participate in an engaging educational experience that integrates academic rigor and joyful learning.

We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people living in poverty, adults with mental illness, victims of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS,children with developmental delays and their families, and others whose needs can effectively be met by our services and philosophy. Unity House's community resource center has a thrift store, food pantry, and dining room, which offer many opportunitiesto volunteer and make a difference in the lives of others.
